This talk took place on March 11th 2016 , in Scotland's capital, on a night hosted by The Psychedelic Society of Edinburgh. Graham's talk , ''Psychedelics and Civilisation, Light and Darkness'' , investigates the possibility, that by demonising and criminalising the use of psychedelics rather than seeking out ways to harness their power for altering consciousness in safe and nurturing spaces, our society may have set itself on a profoundly negative path. It was a full house as 500 fans enjoyed this rare chance to hear one the world's foremost voices on psychedelic use throughout human history, and even engage in a lively Q&A afterwards. Thanks to Juro Oravec for filming and editing this event. ------------------- https://grahamhancock.com/

The primary role of the Rector is to preside at the University Court. The Rector also chairs meetings of the General Council in the absence of the Chancellor. They also work closely with students and the Edinburgh University Students’ Association. The position of Rector has been filled by eminent politicians and military figures, including Sir Winston Churchill and William Gladstone. In recent years Rectors have come from a broader range of Scotland’s public and cultural life, including television presenter Muriel Gray and the first Green politician Robin Harper MSP, all of whom have had some connection with Edinburgh.

The Edinburgh University Salsa Society came up with a solution how to manage anxiety and excess of energy without resorting to extreme measures (a.k.a David Fincher's Fight Club). Here are our rules: 1st rule we dance! 2nd rule: we learn! 3d rule: we party! 4th rule: we are the society! Now compare them to the rules of Fight Club... These guys got it all wrong! "The first rule of Fight Club is: you do not talk about Fight Club. The second rule of Fight Club is: you DO NOT talk about Fight Club! Third rule of Fight Club: if someone yells “stop!”, goes limp, or taps out, the fight is over. Fourth rule: only two guys to a fight."
