This talk took place on March 11th 2016 , in Scotland's capital, on a night hosted by The Psychedelic Society of Edinburgh. Graham's talk , ''Psychedelics and Civilisation, Light and Darkness'' , investigates the possibility, that by demonising and criminalising the use of psychedelics rather than seeking out ways to harness their power for altering consciousness in safe and nurturing spaces, our society may have set itself on a profoundly negative path. It was a full house as 500 fans enjoyed this rare chance to hear one the world's foremost voices on psychedelic use throughout human history, and even engage in a lively Q&A afterwards. Thanks to Juro Oravec for filming and editing this event. ------------------- https://grahamhancock.com/

The Edinburgh University Salsa Society came up with a solution how to manage anxiety and excess of energy without resorting to extreme measures (a.k.a David Fincher's Fight Club). Here are our rules: 1st rule we dance! 2nd rule: we learn! 3d rule: we party! 4th rule: we are the society! Now compare them to the rules of Fight Club... These guys got it all wrong! "The first rule of Fight Club is: you do not talk about Fight Club. The second rule of Fight Club is: you DO NOT talk about Fight Club! Third rule of Fight Club: if someone yells “stop!”, goes limp, or taps out, the fight is over. Fourth rule: only two guys to a fight." The first Rules of Golf were written at Leith, Edinburgh in 1744. An appeal was made to the Town Council of Edinburgh for a Silver Club to be awarded annually to the winner of an ‘Open Golf Competition’. The Council agreed to offer such a prize but only if rules of play were drawn up and so the first-ever recorded written rules of golf were set down and signed by John Rattray. The original rules form the basis of the Rules of Golf we know today. Rattray was a surgeon and served as Surgeon General to Bonnie Prince Charlie’s forces in the 1745 uprising. He was captured at Culloden and sentenced to death for treason. Golf came to his rescue when his golfing partner Lord Duncan Forbes of Culloden secured his release. To recognise the origins of the Rules of Golf and John Rattray’s achiev...
We were recently asked to produce a promotional video for local musicians performing by the name of Duo Concertante. They were playing in the Edinburgh Society of Musicians one evening in September 2013 and were looking a video to be produced for their web site and other general promotional uses. The evening was well attended by locals including many members of the society itself. We started the evening by preparing the room for the event, making sure to safely move the piano and other furniture to create a clean space for the performers and for the production crew. We set out the seating arrangement and preparation was completed by setting up the three cameras. We were shooting on a Canon 5D Mk2 from the left and a Canon 600D at the front. There was an additional high view camera that d...
