As well as lectures and tutorials, at Edinburgh we also use a wide range of additional teaching methods. These include practical and lab sessions. Baber, a Biological Sciences student, talks about his experience of practical laboratory sessions at Edinburgh.
The Edinburgh University Salsa Society came up with a solution how to manage anxiety and excess of energy without resorting to extreme measures (a.k.a David Fincher's Fight Club). Here are our rules: 1st rule we dance! 2nd rule: we learn! 3d rule: we party! 4th rule: we are the society! Now compare them to the rules of Fight Club... These guys got it all wrong! "The first rule of Fight Club is: you do not talk about Fight Club. The second rule of Fight Club is: you DO NOT talk about Fight Club! Third rule of Fight Club: if someone yells “stop!”, goes limp, or taps out, the fight is over. Fourth rule: only two guys to a fight." This talk took place on March 11th 2016 , in Scotland's capital, on a night hosted by The Psychedelic Society of Edinburgh. Graham's talk , ''Psychedelics and Civilisation, Light and Darkness'' , investigates the possibility, that by demonising and criminalising the use of psychedelics rather than seeking out ways to harness their power for altering consciousness in safe and nurturing spaces, our society may have set itself on a profoundly negative path. It was a full house as 500 fans enjoyed this rare chance to hear one the world's foremost voices on psychedelic use throughout human history, and even engage in a lively Q&A afterwards. Thanks to Juro Oravec for filming and editing this event. ------------------- https://grahamhancock.com/

The Scottish capital of Edinburgh is one of the world’s most beautiful cities. Its Old Town and Royal Mile are filled with the ghosts of medieval merchants, body snatchers, and poets, while its Georgian-styled New Town shines with the glories of the Scottish Enlightenment. To see Edinburgh in all her glory, climb to Arthur’s Seat, the highest of the city’s seven peaks. Some historians believe this was the site of King Arthur’s legendary castle Camelot. Nearby, on another volcanic crag, rises Edinburgh Castle, the very symbol of Scotland itself. Over the last eleven centuries, this castle has been laid siege to 26 times but still it stands, a testimony to the indomitable spirit of the Scots. Edinburgh has long held a special place in the hearts of the monarchy. Her Majesty’s Yacht Br...
